The homeowner of a charming water front property at Kangaroo Point reached out to Studio Gaxa through LinkedIn with a vision to enhance their residence. Appreciating both the location and the original charm of their home, the owner’s brief aimed at boosting functionality and refreshing the design.

The renovation at Kangaroo Point was a comprehensive overhaul aimed at enhancing the home’s functionality and aesthetic appeal. It involved the remodelling of 5 wet areas, an update of the floor plan to create a more open and fluid living space, and a meticulous refinement of the home’s finishes. Attention to detail was paramount, with the kitchen’s transformation embodying the project’s commitment to modernising both appearance and functionality. This included a careful selection of lighting, handles, doors, taps, skirting, and cornices to ensure elegance, minimalism, and tonal harmony throughout. The renovation’s objective was to overcome the property’s functional challenges and outdated elements—such as uneven ceiling lines and dated cherry wood parquetry floors with brass trims—without compromising the original charm that endeared the home to its owners

Studio Gaxa’s project director, spearheaded the interior design and project management efforts. Structural alterations were made to open up the layout, bringing a new lease of life to the kitchen and other critical areas of the home. This approach not only enhanced the functionality of the space but also infused it with a sense of modern elegance and simplicity.

Through strategic design and meticulous execution, Studio Gaxa successfully transformed the Kangaroo Point home, ensuring it met the current and future needs of its owners while maintaining its original charm and character.
